Meet our Head and Deputy Head

6th November 2011

Back in May 2011, we worked closely with Teach First and Future Leaders to find our first two members of staff - a Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.

We put a series of candidates through a pretty gruelling day of assessments, including being interviewed by a panel of sixth-form students from Greenwich; having to teach a lesson to Greenwich school-children; having to undertake a strategy 'case-study' with some top Strategy Consultants; data, planning and group exercises; and - of course - a couple of formal interviews.

We were hugely excited to find and appoint Mr Lee Faith as our Headteacher. Mr Faith brings an outstanding record of teaching and senior leadership in a variety of London schools and is hugely passionate about the Greenwich Free School's core aims.

Miss Sarah Jones also had to pass her interviews - but she had a bit of an advantage, in that the whole Greenwich Free School project was her idea in the first place! She's been involved from the beginning in developing the concept and proposal. The governors still made her apply for a job as Deputy Head - but her superb record as a teacher, subject leader and now Senior Leader in Greenwich schools meant she performed brilliantly and secured the job.

We're really excited about our core Leadership team, and look forward to recruiting the rest of our 2012 staff team from January.
