Extended day
At the Greenwich Free School we know that there are no shortcuts to success - in academia or in life. We therefore operate an extended school day, giving our pupils around one-third more time in the classroom with their teachers, and more time for extra-curricular activities.
In concrete terms, our extended day means that our pupils will complete 9.2 'normal' years of learning in the 7 years they are with us - a total of 8778 hours of learning instead of the 6650 they'd receive at a typical secondary school.
This extra 2.2 years of education will help them achieve the high grades we expect of GFS pupils. It will also help them develop into the well-rounded individuals that the top universities and employers are seeking. And we hope they'll have a great time along the way!
